At least it was that way for D--it ended up being more of a time out for me, which is even more necessary.

Hang in there. If you can check out "The Happiest Toddler on the Block" by Harvey Karp. You might find it comforting to read--we loved it and it really helps us stay grounded when it seems like the temper tantrums will go on forever.the stefanie formerly known as stefanierjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15013458822395746109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19665812.post-33807290557616834962007-04-22T19:36:00.000-06:002007-04-22T19:36:00.000-06:00Yikes!Kira hasn't reached that point yet. When she throws her tantrums (it's usually on or near me) and I firmly pick her up and deposit her away from me, get eye-level with her and tell her if she's going to throw her tantrum she can do it someplace else where I don't have to hear or see it. Then I walk away from her. She calms down within a few minutes and it's back to playing again.

Not quite sure what I'm going to do when she reaches Logan's stage of tantrums. :\Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19665812.post-20276620988907283722007-04-22T16:46:00.000-06:002007-04-22T16:46:00.000-06:00The time-out thing never worked for us. I didn't feel real pleasant today, either.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19665812.post-71462603480839419872007-04-22T09:29:00.000-06:002007-04-22T09:29:00.000-06:00This stage is so not fun. On her birthday she wanted to play in the play place at the mall and the older kids were almost trampling her so I took her out and she laid face down on the floor right in the middle of the mall and screamed and cried and kicked her legs. My mom's told me she's worried about what a temper she has already since she's just turned 1 and already acts like she's in her terrible 2's. She also hits me if I irritate her, or hits something if it makes her mad! I don't know what else to do to make her mind! So I know what you're going through...
She also hates it when Dan and I hug.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02003721925458149286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19665812.post-50373474236399101632007-04-21T16:05:00.000-06:002007-04-21T16:05:00.000-06:00That totally sounds like PJ these days. I believe that right now!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
