Damn it!
Logan is sick. He's had a runny nose developing this week since the Sick Visit. He's been going through a lot of tissues over the last couple of days. This morning he woke up sounding terrible, stuffy & just "sick". I went to workout with massage friend for an hour, came back & Logan went down for a nap - having a hard time doing so because he was coughing something fierce.

I've been crying intermittently listening to him. I feel like such a jackass because I knew we should have left, but I was too chicken to pack everyone up & go. I haven't cried at all since Carter has been born & now the tears just well up & won't stop. I would feel somewhat better if I were able to confront the situation & let the grandparents know exactly how I feel, but Bill won't let me. No, I have to play the stupid denial game & keep my thoughts & feelings to myself. He said he would talk to them & take care of it.

Now I'm really hoping Carter doesn't get sick. I'm really, really, really hoping he doesn't.

Oh I hope he doesn't get sick, too! And with one tiny positive little thing I can throw out there- "if" Carter gets it it may not be as bad at all. I hate to talk about that stupid stomach flu again..but Natalie wasn't too bad at all with it (really surprised) but the same virus affected James badly. So..with that.. I still hope he doesn't get it. *crossing fingers and toes*

As I said in my last post, screw others feelings. You need to take care of you and those boys. Their safety is so much more important than niceties. Bill's family shouldn't have done that. There's no other way to look at it. Do you really think Bill will say anything? Ugh, this is making me mad! Can I have their phone number???? I really really really hope that stays well and that Logan feels better. Have you tried zicam noseswabs? I think you can use them on Logan and I find they really help in keeping a cold from getting much worse.

Bill's sister really needs a talking to...how dare she do this to your family.

I'm about to raise some hell.

They all need to know, but once again, the primary culprit was Bill's mom. She was the contact that morning. That night they came over & started making plans for the pumpkin patch & I spoke up, she turned to Bill & said, "But I told you he went to the Doctor..." & he turned to her saying, "But you didn't tell me he was that sick".

So, she basically lied to Bill on the phone knowing that if she told the truth, we would have stayed home. Instead, she told Bill that Cousin B went to the Doctor & was fine. She didn't want us to change plans & miss out on her turkey dinner & decided to risk our kids' health that ultimately got Logan sick.

Bill is going to talk with her & if he can't get the point across, I'm going to speak my mind, no matter what my "tone" might sounds like.

They are all selfish liars, anyway.

I have to agree with Debbie, MIL may have lied to your hubby, but SIL is MORE THAN responsible because she could have called on her own to warn you and she could have even warned you at the door! Getting pissed at MIL is going to have NO effect as usual. I would definitely direct the bulk of my anger at your SIL!

That's awful. Whenever I have a playdate planned I always warn the other parent if Ava's come down with a runny nose or cough. Then we decide what to do from there. It's a common courtesy. Germs spread amongst children like wild fires.. I really do hope Logan gets better soon and that Carter is spared. It's just heart wrenching when they get sick, but especially one as young and helpless as Carter :(

Those terrible, awful people! I'm amazed Bill grew into an adult with them around.

I have to wonder, anonymous.

People knew about basic microbiology 30 years ago, right? About how viruses/bacteria spread? So, you would think it's common sense - ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE SCHOOL TEACHERS. They knew exactly what they were doing but didn't care. They all suck.

I am so sorry that you are going through this right now. I am angry with people I've never even met--and would be upset and worried for my little boy too if I were you. It isn't right that you get treated like that...and I agree with the previous commenters, your SIL could've picked up a phone. I'd never think of letting Stink around an infant if he had a little cold. Never. I hope Carter is doing okay...and that you are recovering from your crappy visit as well.
